Waxing made me more confident... but not in the way you'd think.

This might sound strange, but the confidence I found wasn’t from removing my body hair—it actually came from letting it grow out. I’m Hannah, the founder of Jelly Wax, and this is how it all began.

Back in 2019, I was so tired of the daily pain of shaving. The bumps, the razor burn, the itchy stubble—it all drove me insane, especially because I have sensitive skin, so naturally that made everything worse. I tried waxing because I loved the smooth results, but most waxes either irritated my skin or, worse, took some of it off. It was frustrating, messy, and time consuming to say the least.

I kept searching for something that worked, but nothing fit. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. That’s how Jelly Wax was born—a simple, effective solution for people like me who were fed up with the struggles of daily shaving. And even more than that, I designed it with beginners in mind so you can trust that it really is this simple. 

But as I connected with more and more of YOU, I realized Jelly Wax was about more than just a hair removal routine. I started hearing from people who had unique challenges, especially those with PCOS, who were dealing with rapid hair regrowth. Shaving barely lasted a day for them, and while laser treatments might have been an option for some, it wasn’t always realistic due to skin tone, hair color, or cost.

For these customers, and for me, Jelly Wax became more than just a product. It became a symbol of empowerment. It’s not just about hair removal; it’s about offering a solution that truly works for people who are often overlooked by the beauty industry.

Here’s the unexpected part - the more I waxed, the more I became okay with my body hair. 

What started as a way to manage the frustration of shaving turned into something that shifted my perspective on my own body hair. I used to tell myself, "It's fine, you’re going to wax it off soon, so who cares what others think." But over time, I began to let my hair grow out longer and even started spacing out my waxing sessions. By last summer, I realized I had grown to love my body hair.. and my acne scars... and everything else that I used to be self conscious about. Now please don't confuse my story with thinking that Jelly Wax will be the solution to all of our problems. I'm simply saying Jelly Wax means a lot to me and helped me grow love and compassion for myself...And I want to help replicate this experience with you.

Which is why I felt inspired to share my experience on TikTok, and I quickly learned I wasn’t alone. So many others feel the same way. Embracing body hair has become a core part of Jelly Wax’s mission, and I’m so happy to be part of a community that values comfort and confidence in their own skin.
